The Story & Vibe

Come celebrate the 180th anniversary of New College with an engaging panel event featuring historian Alec Ryrie! Dive into the fascinating global history of early Protestantism in his upcoming book, “The World’s Reformation: How Protestantism Became a Global Religion.” Discover how Protestantism spread from Europe to places as far-flung as Lapland and Chile, and explore the complex interplay between missionary efforts and colonialism. Joining Alec will be several of our own New College scholars, including Felicity Loughlin, Simon Burton, Emma Wild-Wood, and Pedro Feitoza, who will share their insights on Christianity's global journey. After the discussion, unwind with drinks in the historic Rainy Hall and check out the pop-up bookshop by Golden Hare. Whether you're a history buff or just curious about the world of religion, this event promises to be thought-provoking and enriching!
