The Story & Vibe
Get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Rio's samba! Join Mestre Rob Arcari for an unforgettable weekend of Brazilian samba percussion workshops right here in Auckland. Whether you're an intermediate or advanced percussionist with some samba experience, this is your chance to elevate your skills and groove with authentic rhythms. Over two days, you'll dive into the exciting lineup of instruments used in a traditional Escola de Samba, including the tamborim, caixa, and more. Each workshop is designed to enhance your technique and bring the true Rio swing to your playing. Kick off with a tamborim masterclass on Friday evening, followed by a caixa and repique session. Then, on Saturday, join the full bateria intensive where you'll blend all the percussion elements together and learn fresh breaks straight from Rio. Don’t forget to bring your own instruments and come ready to jam! 🎶
