The Story & Vibe
Jagran Film Festival (JFF) The Jagran Film Festival (JFF) is one of the world s largest travelling film festivals, proudly rooted in India. Established in 2010, it is the flagship cultural initiative of the Jagran Prakashan Group, dedicated to making quality cinema accessible beyond Indias metropolitan cities and fostering a deeper appreciation for the art of filmmaking across the country. Over the years, JFF has emerged as a premier platform that celebrates the art of storytelling through cinema. The festival brings together filmmakers, actors, producers, writers, technicians, industry professionals, students, and cinema enthusiasts under one roof, creating an inspiring space for dialogue, learning, and collaboration. Through panel discussions, masterclasses, interactive sessions, and Q&A conversations with renowned personalities from the global film industry, JFF offers audiences an immersive cinematic experience that extends far beyond the screen. Each year, the festival receives more than 7,000 film submissions from over 100 countries, making it one of the most diverse and internationally recognised film festivals. Every eligible entry undergoes a meticulous evaluation by an esteemed preview committee comprising some of India s most respected film experts, including members associated with the National Film Awards selection process. After multiple rounds of screening, nearly 500 outstanding films are selected for exhibition during the festival s extensive 100-day journey across India. The festival is inaugurated in New Delhi in the presence of distinguished dignitaries from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, before travelling across 10 states and multiple cities nationwide. With a cumulative audience reach exceeding 500 million people, JFF has grown into a cultural movement that democratises access to exceptional Indian and international cinema while encouraging meaningful conversations, cross-cultural exchange, and a deeper appreciation of diverse storytelling traditions. Beyond showcasing films, the Jagran Film Festival serves as a vibrant hub for networking, talent discovery, and creative collaboration. It provides emerging filmmakers with the opportunity to present their work alongside celebrated industry veterans, fostering an inclusive environment that encourages innovation, mentorship, and the emergence of new cinematic voices. The festival culminates with the prestigious Jagran Film Festival Awards in Mumbai, where an eminent jury honours excellence across multiple cinematic disciplines. Outstanding filmmakers, actors, writers, technicians, and creative professionals are recognised for their exceptional contributions to the world of cinema and are presented with prestigious awards and cash prizes during the grand closing ceremony. For more than a decade, the Jagran Film Festival has remained committed to its vision of bringing world-class cinema closer to audiences, celebrating diverse perspectives, and strengthening Indias cinematic landscape through meaningful storytelling, artistic excellence, and cultural exchange.
